"Of The Year" Awards

This year we will be awarding Dog of the Year, Show Dog of the Year, Working Dog of the Year, Handler of the Year, and Junior Handler of the Year. Anytime you place 1st, 2nd, or 3rd in ANY event at a VSBA show you will receive points accordingly. *1st-15 2nd-10 3rd-5*and 5 bonus points for Best Male, Best Female, Best of Show.Your points will be applied to the appropriate category. The category are as follow:

*Dog of the Year*

Dog of the Year will be awarded to the dog who accumulates the most TOTAL points in ANY event (except junior handlers or beginner weight pull) at a VSBA show.

*Show Dog of the Year*

Show Dog of the Year will be awarded to the dog who accumulates the most points in any conformation class at any VSBA show.

*Working Dog of the Year*

Working Dog of the Year will be awarded to the dog who accumulates the most points in any working event (except beginner weight pull) at any VSBA show.

*Handler of the Year*

Handler of the Year will be awarded to the Handler who accumulates the most points ANY event at any VSBA show.

*Junior Handler of the Year*

Junior Handler of the Year will be awarded to the Junior Handler who accumulates the most points in any event a VSBA show.

Point Breakdown for VSBA Champion Status

*Only dogs who register for VSBA Dog ID will be awarded points towards their championship.*

Puppies 4 mo. - 12 mo. (4+ dogs)

1st place - 4 pts.
2nd place - 2 pts.
3rd place - 1 pts.

Puppies 4 mo. - 12 mo. (3- dogs)

1st place - 2 pts.
2nd place - 1 pts.
3rd place - .5 pts.

Adults 12 mo. - 5+ yrs. (4+ dogs)
1st place - 8 pts.
2nd place - 4 pts.
3rd place - 2 pts.

Adults 12 mo. - 5+ yrs. (3- dogs)
1st place - 4 pts.
2nd place - 2 pts.
3rd place - 1 pts.


Trophy Awards

Best Male/Female Puppy - 10 pts.
Best Male/Female - 10 pts.
Best of Show - 15 pts.
